Producing high quality merino wool has been Plevna Downs Pastoral Company’s
priority since its establishment in 1937.  This has been underpinned by the experience gained and passed down through three generations of family ownership and by the continual flexibility and adoption of new ideas to better improve existing production.

In 1996 the organic certification process was commenced, stamping an already clean natural product with a label that could be recognised and marketed throughout the world. The objective was to establish   recurrent markets with processors/retailers within the wool industry. The organic wool industry was almost non-existent at this time and Plevna Downs Pastoral Company has taken a leading role in its subsequent development.

In recent years, this organic fibre has been exported to Germany, USA, Japan and New Zealand.
